Brent Senior, MD, FACS, FARS Appointed Vice President of Development & Strategic Initiatives

The Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the American Rhinologic Society are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Brent Senior as Vice President of Development and Strategic Initiatives. Over the last 20 years Dr. Senior has held several positions in the ARS as a member of the Education Committee, Newsletter Chair, Consultant to the Board, Secretary and President in addition to being an integral part of the creation of the International Forum of Allergy & Rhinology (IFAR), the official journal of the American Rhinologic Society.

The Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the American Rhinologic Society are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Brent Senior as Vice President of Development and Strategic Initiatives. Over the last 20 years Dr. Senior has held several positions in the ARS as a member of the Education Committee, Newsletter Chair, Consultant to the Board, Secretary and President in addition to being an integral part of the creation of the International Forum of Allergy & Rhinology (IFAR), the official journal of the American Rhinologic Society.
Brent A. Senior, MD, FACS, FARS is Nat and Sheila Harris Distinguished Professor of Otolaryngology and Neurosurgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he also serves as Vice Chair of Academic Affairs and Outreach and Chief of Rhinology, Allergy, and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery. Dr. Senior has lectured and instructed in nearly 120 national and international rhinology courses and authored 120 articles and chapters in the field. In addition, he has co-edited three texts in rhinology including the “The Frontal Sinus,” now in its second edition, and recently, the “Rhinology and Allergy Clinical Reference Guide.” Dr. Senior’s passion for education has been honored with his receipt of “Teacher of the Year” awards and the “Golden Head Mirror Award” from the American Rhinologic Society, while his clinical expertise has been honored with several “Top Doctor” awards. His humanitarian efforts garnered him a “Humanitarian of the Year” Award from the American Academy of Otolaryngology in 2005. He is immediate past-Chair of Rhinology and Allergy Education for the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery; Associate Editor of the International Forum of Allergy and Rhinology; Past President of the American Rhinologic Society; President of the Christian Society of Otolaryngology; and he sits on the Board of Directors of the International Rhinologic Society and the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. He is also President of the International Rhinologic Society.
As Vice President of Development & Strategic Initiatives, Dr. Senior will become Chair of the Development Committee which is responsible for interactions between the ARS and corporate supporters, as well as fostering plans to increase development and fundraising of the ARS.
Strategic Initiatives will include improved interactions with International Societies, education and long-ranging planning for the society.
Dr. Senior’s appointment begins during this year’s 65th Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA
