
Global Scholar Initiative
The Global Scholar Initiative is a new international outreach program of the American Rhinologic Society (ARS), created to foster global collaboration and support the professional development of early-career rhinologists seeking short-term observerships at U.S. rhinology institutions.
This initiative aims to:
- Promote meaningful exchange of clinical and academic knowledge
- Support early-career rhinologists in their career advancement
- Amplify the international presence and mission of ARS.
Eligibility
- Fellows or early-career rhinologist (within 5 years of independent practice finishing training)
- Priorities to those from low- or middle-income countries
Program Components
- Minimum 2-week observership at a U.S. academic rhinology institution
- Participation in ARS Annual Meeting, including optional faculty mentorship
- Participation in the ARS Annual Meeting is strongly recommended. The observership and ARS meeting participation together provide valuable opportunities for education, networking, and long-term engagement with ARS.
- A 2-day hands-on cadaver dissection program at the Medtronic Training Center in Jacksonville, Florida.
Awardees will receive
- A $2,500 educational grant (2 receipients/year, sponsored by Medtronic)
- Complimentary registration to the ARS Annual Meeting
- Support for travel to the Medtronic dissection program (2-day program) based on availability during the visit
