The abstract must adequately describe the objectives, methods, results and conclusions so that the Abstract Committee may evaluate the quality of the work and proposed presentation.
The abstract title should fully reflect the content of the abstract body.
A structured abstract format is preferable; that is, all abstracts should contain these sections: Introduction (background information and purpose of the project/study), Methods (study design, techniques), Results (summary of data), and Conclusions
The authors must accept sole responsibility for the statements in their submitted abstract.
Illustrations and tables are not permitted.
Supplementary data are not accepted under any circumstances.
Abbreviations may be used in the abstract if such abbreviations are defined at their first mention.
Do not list authors' names or institutional affiliations in the abstract title and/or body.
Abstracts may be submitted for oral or poster presentation.
Presentation of an abstract accepted for oral presentation requires the submission of a written manuscript that is suitable for submission to the official ARS journal, Allergy & Rhinology.
All manuscripts for abstracts presented as oral presentations at any ARS scientific meeting must be submitted to The International Forum on Allergy & Rhinology, which has "right of first refusal."
The program committee reserves the right to reassign presentation types (oral, poster) as it deems necessary. Corresponding authors of accepted abstracts will receive confirmation of the presentation type when the abstract acceptances are distributed.
A maximum of 6 authors may be specified in the on-line abstract submission process; however, a presentation at the scientific meeting may have more than 6 authors. Corresponding authors for accepted abstracts may request the addition of additional authors to their abstracts by submitting a request to the ARS Program Committee via email (ars.administration@gmail.com).
Each abstract submission must specify a corresponding author, to whom all correspondence about the abstract will be directed.
All abstracts will be assigned an identification number which should be used for all communications about an abstract.
After an abstract is submitted, the Review Committee Administrators will correct only typographical errors to the submitted abstract. Content that changes any component of the abstract will not be permitted.
The presenter of each accepted abstract must register for the scientific meeting in the standard fashion.
All decisions of the ARS Abstract & Program Committees are final.
Where ever possible, noncommercial names must be used in all abstracts, presentations and posters. The ARS Abstract and Program Committees may revise submitted abstracts to enforce compliance with this ACCME requirement. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in a 1 year suspension during which abstract authors may not present at any official ARS function.
All authors must agree to disclose all non-FDA approved use of FDA approved drugs during the abstract submission process as well as in the actual presentation (oral or poster). Abstracts submitted for presentation to the meetings of the American Rhinologic Society are expected to be original and unique submissions without duplication at other societal meetings. Duplicate submissions or "salami sliced" submissions utilizing similar data sources and arriving at similar conclusions will result in suspension of rights of all authors and co-authors to present at an ARS meeting for one year.
