Rhinology World 2009

David Kennedy, MD

In April 2009, the ARS will have the pleasure of co-hosting a major international rhinology meeting within the United States. The International Rhinologic Society, (IRS) the International Symposium of Infection and Allergy of the Nose, (ISIAN) and the AAOA will join the ARS in a meeting entitled Rhinology World 2009 and hosted in Philadelphia. The meeting in 2009 will replace the normal spring meeting of the ARS which typically occurs in conjunction with the COSM. A four day meeting is planned which will combine an outstanding didactic program, free paper presentations, rhinologic exhibits and demonstration cadaver surgery by an internationally renowned faculty. The focus of the meeting will be the more recent advances in the management of nasal and sinus diseases, including basic science research findings and endoscopic skull base surgery. The option for participants to perform proctored cadaver hands-on surgery is anticipated. A companion social program will highlight the historical and cultural highlights of the City of Philadelphia and, especially for international visitors, pre and post congress tours will be offered to New York and Washington, DC.

An international scientific advisory group is currently is being assembled to ensure an outstanding program focused on rhinosinusitis and its management, mechanisms of inflammation and allergic rhinitis, endoscopic skull base surgery and esthetic nasal surgery. Please put April 15-18, 2009 aside to join us in Philadelphia for this exciting meeting!
