Membership Committee
Stephanie Joe, MD
The American Rhinologic Society is the premiere source for the up-to-date information on clinical,
scientific, and technical advances in the dynamic field of rhinology. Increasing attendance at both Fall and Spring meetings in the last few years continues to emphasize the fast-paced growth of the field of rhinology.
The benefits of membership in the ARS include:
- Discounts for the Annual and Spring meetings to participate in Scientific sessions and panel discussions that include both national and international leaders in the field.
- Subscription to the American Journal of Rhinology, the official publication of the ARS.
- Access to the “members only” portion of the website with links to meeting registration, your personal member profile, and CME reports.
- The opportunity for otolaryngologists with an interest in rhinology to participate in ARS committees and make an impact in the field of rhinology
In September, I took over as chair of the Membership Committee for the American Rhinologic Society. This comes after the very successful tenure of Karen Fong. We will be continuing several of the initiatives she started and hope to increase membership through additional avenues such as:
- Senior residents who will be graduating in 2008 have received complimentary membership to the ARS including our journal, the American Journal of Rhinology, through the sponsorship of Xoran Technology and Oceanside Press, the publisher of the journal.
- Contacting previous resident members and encouraging upgrading to regular membership.
- Inviting regular members to consider becoming a fellow of the ARS.
- Partnering with other otolaryngology organizations such as the AAOA to promote the advancement of rhinology.
If you would like further information, or have suggestions for the Membership Committee, please contact me at sjoe@uic.edu or Wendi Perez through the ARS.
