Make plans now for Nashville, Opreyland and the ARS Spring meeting!
As Program Chairman for the upcoming COSM meeting, I am enthusiastic about the upcoming educational program and wish to invite all those interested in rhinology to attend. This year, the program committee has received more than eighty requests for presentations. The quality of the abstracts submitted was superb, ranging from new techniques in surgical approaches, medical management of chronic disease, outcomes and reviews as well as new ideas on pathophysiology. There are many different presentations including video submissions from both national and international otolaryngology departments. The ARS Program Committee is extremely pleased to present this high-quality program to the membership.
I personally wish to acknowledge the excellent work of the COSM Abstract Committee: Drs. S. Graham, P. Hwang, R. Orlandi, S. Kountakis, J. Stankiewicz and W. Vaughan. These physicians reviewed all the submitted abstracts and were blinded to the authorship and then graded the merit of the papers. The final rankings were utilized to formulate the oral and poster presentations. Unfortunately, due to the number of the oral abstracts submitted, not all made the final program, and some oral submissions were asked to be changed to poster presentations due to time constraints. The program committee acknowledges the work of the submissions and plans to include them in considerations for the ARS awards.
As an enhancement to the meeting, the Society plans to institute the use of an Audience Response System. This system will allow the moderators and discussants to formulate questions for feedback to the audience and presenters. In addition, we plan to utilize the system to gain insight to the needs of the membership during the business meeting regarding coding issues, patient advocacy and educational and membership enhancements. This will assist the leadership to guide a proper course for the Society in the future.
So, plan now to take advantage of this excellent agenda. For your educational needs, the ARS Spring meeting in Nashville is the place!
